Zombie Axe

The zombie axe is a power level 5 one-handed melee weapon that can be crafted at a blacksmith's bench. The axe and its recipe are received by completing Doric's Quest. It can be ascended at the mystic forge using ascension cores.

Its special effect is dealing both crush and slash damage simultaneously. The damage type that an enemy is weaker to takes priority: For example, if attacking a skeletal hoplite (that is weak to crush but resistant to slash), it will deal increased damage. However, if an enemy is resistance to slash, but weak to crush, the resistance takes priority Although Skullsplitter has +15% critical strike chance, this weapon has higher base damage at all power levels such that on average it will deal more damage, making it the superior one-handed crush weapon to ascend.

That being said, this weapon uses the mace move set, which is slower than the sword, scimitar, or whip move set, meaning that although weapons like the toktz-xil-ak, Imaru's talon, or abyssal whip may have lower damage values, they may have higher damage per second against enemies weak or neutral to slash damage and neutral or resistant to crush damage.

In a better world he might have held back the darkness, stood as a single ray of light in a world of shadow. But this is not our world. There are no sages of this man, no great texts telling of his heroic deeds. The only sound he made in the time after his death, is the bubbling song of digestive acids within a zogre's belly.

History is penned by the survivors and the victors, yet the deeds of the dead echo across time. This axe, simple as it may appear, is infused with vengeance against the dead that had taken so much from a good man.

• A similar variant of the zombie axe is found in Old School RuneScape, where it is dropped by a Armoured Zombie in Zemouregal's Fort or Base. The axe shares a similar appearance to that of its Old School RuneScape, but remains unique in certain parts, such as the skull and detailed design.
