Velgar
Velgar
General Velgar, also known as the Big High War God by the goblins after witnessing Bandos retreat from Velgar, is one of Queen Kuldra's generals and most feared disciples. His lair, Velgar's Rise, is located in the Fractured Plains.
Velgar will occasionally attack the adventurer in the wild, spraying poison breath or meteor barrages on the ground.
To summon and fight Velgar, the adventurer must gain the recipe and ingredients to craft a challenge horn. According to recovered documents, the horn design includes a dragon's tooth carved with dragonkin sigils and metal wires connected in a lattice formation.
Early Life
Velgar was originally one of many dragons bred and controlled by the dragonkin of Ashenfall. He specifically belonged to the dragonkin architect Brakka, who used him primarily as a beast of burden to haul materials for construction projects.
When conflict broke out between the alliance of humans and goblins against the garou, Velgar was finally permitted to join battle. He demonstrated exceptional brutality and combat prowess, decimating entire settlements and military units. During the conflict, Bandos took note of Velgar and challenged the dragon. Bandos, in his arrogance, attempted to wrestle Velgar to death, without wearing any armour, wielding any weapons, or using any protective wards. He nearly succeeded in killing Velgar, until Velgar called down a poison-filled rock from the skies that struck Bandos in the head. This caused him to release Velgar from his grip, which allowed Velgar to weaken Bandos with his anima-infused poison breath, after which the god retreated. His injury would permanently corrupt the region now known as Bloodblight Swamp, bleeding through the land itself. Despite his effectiveness in battle, Brakka returned Velgar to servitude after the conflict subsided, forcing him to haul construction materials once again. This treatment would later fuel Velgar's desire to rebel against the dragonkin.
When Kuldra began planning her rebellion against the dragonkin masters, Velgar was among the first to join her cause. Kuldra taught him to absorb power from Ashenfall's anima font, transforming him into a dragon infused with the power of earth itself. When Kuldra sent her dragons to destroy the human settlement, Velgar played a central role in the destruction of some settlements across Ashenfall. He led the assault on the Keep of Blue Flames and Bramblemead Village, with his forces burning everything in their path. He now rules over much of Ashenfall with the goblins as his followers and the garou as his subjects. He was once challenged by a garou king, who, despite being defeated, was respected and demanded his defeat to be celebrated in his honour.

In the 13th year of the Sixth Age, when an expedition arrived from the mainland to explore the rediscovered continent of Ashenfall, Velgar and another personally attacked their ship for the Dragon Queen. His attack decimated the expedition, leaving only a handful of survivors, including Cathan, Dionysius, Vannaka, Zanik, and Doric. As the survivors made contact with the mainland, new adventurers would head the call, but some would meet an unfornate fate, by either Velgar, the goblins or garou. Some random Adventurer(s) would arrive to Ashenfall in hope to have a fresh start. While the adventurer(s) prepare themselves by setting up a base and gathering equipment, Cathan would go off on his own, recruiting goblins to his cause in helping him find a way to fight Velgar. Despite his best effort, Velgar witnessed Cathan get captured by the garou, who sacrificed the human in his name. Despite his constant attack against the adventurer(s), he was confronted by them and defeated. Putting a stop to his attack against them and his rule over both the Ghornfell and Brynmoor

General Velgar was one of Kuldra's most trusted allies in the dragon rebellion. In the years that led to the betrayal of their dragonkin masters, she would seek Velgar's advice on how to best handle the situation. His answer was always clear, brutality was the only language that their masters would understand.
He had been Brakka's beast of burden. A mighty warrior, forced to be little more than a pack mule for the arrogant architect of the dragonkin. When the war against the goblins and the humans brought the dragons into conflict, Velgar was finally allowed to join the battle. He slaughtered without mercy, obliterating settlements and entire platoons with barely a sweat.
Brakka rewarded his brutality with yet more chains. When the conflict dulled, Velgar was made to haul stone and metal, so that Brakka could rebuild damaged fortresses.
It is perhaps not wonder, therefore, that he accepted Kuldra's scheme without hesitation. The first to join her war, aside from her own child. She taught him to absorb the power of the anima font, transforming him into a dragon infused with the might of the earth itself.

Bandos wrapped his arms around the dragon's serpentine neck and dug his fingernails beneath the scales. Velgar, in his writhing fury, called down a poison-filled rock from the heavens and cast it at Bandos, striking him in the temple.
