Kalphite Soldier
Kalphite Soldier
Kalphite soldiers are a militant variant of kalphite native to the Umbral Sands region, bred specifically to defend their hive. A Kalphite Queen creates them by ingesting adamantite ore and infusing its chemical compounds into a developing larva as she lays her eggs.
Locations
Some kalphite soldiers only spawn at night.

There are many people who argue that the military is “in their blood”, and aside from those who were part of secret, medical conspiracy theories, this is not a biological truth. While you can dedicate your life to the military machine, it is a choice, not a certainty.
For the kalphite soldier it is a literal reality. They have the military in their blood. Their very genetic structure is designed with the singular purpose – battle. They are pure warriors, with minds that think of nothing else other than the defence of the hive.
The queen creates the soldier with intent. When she lays her eggs, she releases certain chemicals harvested from ingested metal ore, in this case adamantite, and it bonds with the growing larvae, becoming something stronger. That is why the soldiers' shells are harder and their mandibles more dangerous, because they are forged in the embryonic sac to be killers.
