Kalphite

Kalphites (aka the Kalphiscarabeinae) are giant bug-like creatures found within the desert region of Umbral Sands. They were brought from the mainland by Avisk and were experimented on, in hope that he could be able to be linked to their hivemind. There are two hives located in Umbral Sands, one in Dunes of Uzzer and another in Manafem Plains.

History

Within the mainland of Gielinor, the origin of the kalphites are a mystery, with some believing to be created by the Menaphite god Scabaras. They lived their lives within the Kharidian Desert up until Avisk arrived and taken some from their homes for experimentations.
