Fortifying crunchies are a consumable food item that provide moderate sustenance. It also gives the player the Fungal Fortitude perk, which grants resistance to Poison effects for 300 seconds. There is also a 5% chance to produce a rat roast whilst making fortifying crunchies.

The mushrooms of Ashenfall have absorbed enough magic over the years to give them special properties. A well-cooked mushroom will absorb certain toxins from whoever ingests them, making them invaluable for scouting into poison-filled areas.
