Дериен was a Wind-touched Amalgamated Human. Derien entered an archery contest, using his amalgam powers to win, guiding his arrows through the air. Shortly thereafter, the tournament was cancelled his victory further added to the tension between the "Pure" humans and the Amalgamated .
