These are characters that are described in text only in the journal, for items, areas, or lore scraps:
- Abigail Potterington: A six-year-old farmer of Брэмблмид who embroidered the farmer's hat worn as a mark of status by the village's farmers. The flower on the hat was intended to represent an oak.
- Agnes DeWithlington-Smithe: A self-proclaimed witch with no magical talent who filled her garden with poisonous herbs and flowers. Locals assumed she was a retired assassin, though she simply thought the plants were pretty.
- Эйдан: A Wild Knight who died while hunting a beast in a poisonous fog, sacrificing himself to save his brothers. After his death, his brothers bore his name in honour of his sacrifice.
- Ансель: A solitary Wild Knight who used the Призвать укрытие spell to camp in the highest peaks and deepest crevices of Эшенфолл. He died in his sleep after resting in the Болото Кровогнили , which the spell offered no protection against.
- Эшиен: A legendary garou druid who was among the first to wield a blightwood battlestaff. According to legend, the goddess Lougrim sent her on a quest to defeat a demon in the swamps.
- Artorius Flamhanger: A captain who held a position in Феллхоллоу against the risen dead for years after the rest of the region had fallen. He returned his own children to the earth as they rose, and beheaded his wife with a silver blade after her death. He was eventually eaten by a zogre.
- Атилий Расмодель: A knight chosen by Имару to guard the dragons during their torpors, who styled herself the Dragon Knight. She died alongside Ксикотал attempting to drive her sword into Кулдра's heart.
- Рыжий оцелот: A bandit leader who took amusement in using expensive bronze arrows to attack villagers. He was eventually killed by a rat carrying a plague, and his ashes were buried in an unmarked place to contain the infection.
- Aurin: A Wild Knight who stood against a black-furred, red-eyed creature that had massacred a farm in Бринмор. His brutal bronze arrows failed to fell it, and the beast howled and vanished into the shadows.
- Awfunctious: A demon bound at Даудун-Рич that learned to imitate the voice of Alric.
- Aydahn: A garou cub and trickster from a Лунный Гару story, who entered a desert cave that claimed to be the resting sun. He emerged with black fur and gold eyes, having met the demon of embers.
- Baralas: A dwarf of Keldagrim who insisted a bronze pickaxe could mine any ore. He was killed when the pick shattered against a particularly dense metal.
- Bilar Amaris: A hunter of Жаролес who set out to hunt green dragons, partly to impress a potion seller in the village. He was killed, and the green dragonhide armour recovered from his body was copied by local leatherworkers.
- Бракка: A dragonkin architect and leader of the Cabal, the group of dragonkin who fled to Ashenfall. He sought to build a new dragonkin empire and constructed a great tower (now called Brakka's Folly) in Ghornfell. He was killed by Kuldra, who then gave his elemental earth power to Velgar.
- Callius Waithe: A necromancer of Феллхоллоу and former member of the Дети теней, who left the order because he found their evil insufficiently overt. He marched five skeletons on Жаролес, set them alight when the villagers failed to panic, and lost control of the fire. His ghost is said to run through the streets on autumn evenings trying to extinguish spectral flames.
- Chompy: The name a young garou bug catcher intended to give a kalphite they meant to trap and befriend.
- Claus: A farmhand of Феллхоллоу and the love of Haager, who returned to the pumpkin fields as a wither-rotted zombie.
- Connakt: A Лунный Гару warrior of great size who forged the first adamant greatsword and wielded it one-handed. He is said to have travelled beyond the Сумрачные пески and beyond Ashenfall, settling elsewhere with a family. His greatsword, Sgian ìm, was buried with him.
- Граф Валингард: A member of Бринмор's nobility in the Third Age who was fond of red topaz and owned a chandelier made from the stones. The chandelier was destroyed by dragonfire.
- Синтия Валтис: A wizard who was known for transforming twigs into carrots to prevent a famine in Brynmoor. She also created a cool breeze during the summer heat. She is remembered for a fire magic experiment that launched her across the continent, and her body was never found.
- Дану: A garou who was raised with love by the druid Gahl after her village was destroyed. She became a skilled hunter and eventually claimed a king's throne through reason and wit rather than combat. She ruled her people well until Velgar ended her reign.
- Дериен: An Амальгамы archer with control over air who won Bramblemead's archery tournament, causing the competition to end out of jealousy from non-Amalgamated villagers.
- Drorkar: A dwarf whose venture selling fried sardines in sealed metal tins with pull rings was rejected at great personal cost.
- Edgar: A lumberjack who drank with wizards of the Wizard's Guild and devised the Choppertunity spell to shorten his workload. He was dismissed after casting it while drunk and demolishing his master's cabin.
- Eileena: A human soldier and archer who fought a months-long sniping duel against the garou archer Krayth across the King's Pass. She stopped shooting after a stray arrow struck a garou child, and the pass fell to the garou.
- Elias Oculus: A wizard and birdwatcher who created the Око Окулуса spell so that he might see the world as birds do. He also published extensive studies of bird flight, and his memorial statue was placed in the branches of a tree.
- Ева: A mage who was travelling with the author of the torn journal page and Eric when they were attacked by garou. She tried to fight them off with fire magic, but was killed.
- Эрик: A traveller mentioned in the torn journal page who was dragged into the tree line by a garou and was killed.
- Falistrius: A wizard of Феллхоллоу who sought fame through forbidden research and found it instead in a duel. Local custom obliged her to answer an elven sorcerer's challenge on behalf of her wife, and when her staff shattered she channelled her magic through a hollow branch, originating splitbark equipment.
- Fang: A green dragon hatched from a stolen egg by a soldier in Феллхоллоу, who hid it from their captain and named it for its teeth.
- Festilius: A demon held at Даудун-Рич with a habit of finding flaws in binding spells and unwinding them. When loose, he was usually found in the chicken coop.
- Flytr: A Лунный Гару hunter who crafted the first yew longbow from a lightning-struck tree in the oases, breaking a taboo against using wood the Elidness had given. The bow's effectiveness was later taken as proof the taboo had been mistaken.
- Фроде: A Wild Knight who was so skilled with a bow that he never returned from a hunt empty-handed. He would hunt before every gathering of the Wild Knights so they could feast. One day he didn't return, and his body was found in five separate locations across Brynmoor. His arrows, marked with his symbol (an owl), were never found.
- Гал: A garou druid who lost everyone he knew in the wars. After finding a garou village in ruins and goblins threatening a garou pup, he killed the goblins and raised the child (Dahnu) with love, teaching her to hunt with a bow when she showed no talent for magic.
- Gastritix: A druid whose digestion could not tolerate Bramblemead cooking. She created the Внутренняя алхимия spell to process food almost instantly, and went on to become a noted local chef.
- Стеклянный нож: A serial killer who murdered Amalgamated people. She was the wife of one of the village elders and a blacksmith. When caught, she received only a light sentence of community service, showing the prejudice against Amalgamated in Brynmoor.
- Globfinger: A goblin who sheltered from a snowfall beside a Saradominist soldier during the alliance against the garou, and shared a meal and war stories with him.
- Golbor and Klom: Two zogres who settled near a Феллхоллоу farm as refugees from the Bandosian forces, burning their weapons on arrival and working the fields in exchange for pumpkins.
- Готрен Актиллиан: A blacksmith of Брэмблмид obsessed with unfashionable metals, who found blurite in a dragonkin vault in central Гхорнфелл and forged it into the first blurite crossbow. He was a skilled marksman and a poor swordsman.
- Gregor Volrath: A defender of the Dowdun Mountains known as the Mountain Lion, who held back neighbouring villagers from the mithril crags with hammer and shield before the keep was fortified. His remains are interred in a statue within Даудун-Рич.
- Haager: An alchemist of Феллхоллоу whose love, Claus, returned from death as a zombie. He brewed a potion to inflict the same affliction on himself, and the two are said to dance in the ruined farmland under a full moon.
- Habberdash: A magician of Храмовый лес, known as Habberdash the Impatient, who wrapped himself in mystic thread rather than weaving robes. The thread unravelled on a goblin's helmet mid-battle and he was killed.
- Hakanaten: A Лунный Гару selected as pharaoh by drawing stones from a bag, who never wanted the position and pleased no one. After a revolt deposed him and destroyed the throne, he was cast into a kalphite hive, where he lived contentedly among the swarm.
- Генриетта: A witch who tried to combine the toadflax herb with actual toads, creating a monstrous creature that killed five people before being put down.
- Хокистикс: A druid who brought wild jade vines to Ashenfall as houseplants. He was forced to live on the edge of Bramblemead Village until he disappeared, presumably eaten by his plants.
- Holtz: A villager of Жаролес and a master archer who refused to take up arms against another person, considering archery an art. His reanimated corpse did not share the principle.
- Ignatius Wormwood: A failed apprentice wizard credited with the earliest enchanted blurite crossbow bolts. Challenged to a duel by a knight over a maiden, he knocked the knight flat with a single bolt through iron armour and was released, only to offend someone else.
- Ilom: A Wild Knight who dried small cuts of meat into snacks to carry on long patrols.
- Имару: A dragon known as the Soul-Eater who rules over Феллхоллоу, a region of Ashenfall suspended between life and death.
- Isla: A member of the Дети теней known as the Blood Witch and the Lady of Screams, who was the first to take the secrets of Рунотворчество from the blue-robed wizards and pass them to the order's mages. Her remains are interred in a statue within Даудун-Рич.
- Jenna: A resident of Феллхоллоу with seaweed hair and sapphire eyes, whose neighbours turned on her during the persecution that drove her community north and underground.
- Jenniva Milgrim: A woman who preferred sleep to waking life and rose as one of the first of the risen dead. Denied dreams, she buried herself with a shovel, becoming the only dead in Fellhollow to stay in the ground.
- Jillian Varden: A wizard concerned solely with fire, who created the Ferocious Furnace spell in pursuit of ever hotter flames. Her laboratory was reduced to soot and her body was never recovered.
- Kaira: A druid of the Softfoot tribe and among the first Лунный Гару to hunt the sands for crafting materials, who found kalphites instead of the beasts she expected.
- Karia: A garou whose envy of the iridescent colours of kalphite wings led the garou to attack the hives for their materials, at the cost of many lives.
- Карибдос: A vast burrowing creature known as the devourer, which swallowed much of Малго's expedition from beneath the sands. It was killed when the expedition returned in adamant armour, and its teeth shattered against them.
- Кессел: An Amalgamated Wild Knight whose skin glowed like burning coals. She favoured a bronze greatsword in battle and could channel her fiery nature through it, setting it ablaze. Her attack on a young garou prince helped trigger the war between humans and garou.
- Кетрен: A wizard with a restless mind who created the Rocksplosion spell to help miners after finding traditional mining methods too boring.
- Король Ралух: A legendary garou king who, according to stories, was granted a weapon called Skullsplitter by the goddess Lougrim that could destroy any foe.
- Король Ролтар: A mighty garou king who challenged the dragon Velgar to combat and was slain. Velgar respected his strength and returned his body to his people for a proper burial.
- Krayth: A garou archer who fought a prolonged sniping duel against the human soldier Eileena across the King's Pass, which fell to the garou after she withdrew.
- Кулдра: A multi-headed dragon queen known as the God-Eater. She was created through dragonkin experiments with Lougrim's assistance. She led the Dragon Rebellion against the dragonkin, killed and devoured Lougrim to become the new High Queen of the Garou, and still rules Ashenfall.
- Kyter: A Лунный Гару warrior orphaned by a sandstorm and raised by the Elidness, who left him the bow of Elidinis. The bow passed down his line until Фузан murdered the last of his bloodline.
- Лакрусса: A dragonkin scientist who discovered how to use rune essence to create the vault guardians. She also created enormous wyrms whose bones can be found in the Stormtouched Highlands, and the blue dragons left on Даудун-Рич. She commanded ice, was protective of her sibling, Viika, and broke them free from captivity, making herself an outcast among dragonkin.
- Леандр: The head chef of Bramblemead, known for his hearty stew that brought villagers together.
- Lina Hesperian: One of the Амальгамы, who crafted the first enchanted iron bolts to let hunters kill cleanly and without suffering. She was murdered in an alley, and the bolts are said to carry the grudge of her final curse.
- Lionel: An Амальгамы of Феллхоллоу with metal hair and stone skin, whose strength was celebrated rather than feared there. He held the guardhouse at Крепость Сильверторн against the undead until a zogre broke him.
- Lochlan: A water-Amalgamated jeweller who left a gemstone in the Дикие рыцари' gathering hall for successful hunters to touch, then crafted the accumulated enchantment into an archers' amulet.
- Лугрим: A moon deity and the first High Queen of the Garou. Originally from a world of passive, contemplative beings, she fled with Guthix to escape that life. She later ascended to godhood, conquered the garou of Antumnos at the city of Magrawn, and brought them to Ashenfall. She was eventually killed and devoured by Kuldra.
- Малго: A dwarf who led an expedition into the deserts of Ashenfall and refined adamant into workable armour and blades in order to kill Карибдос. He and his team pressed deeper into the region afterwards and were never heard from again.
- Мэллори: A wizard who created the Магический фокус and shared it with his peers. He was murdered by his mentor, who claimed the knowledge as his own.
- Маев: A Лунный Гару hunter who raised a red dragon hatchling, Vakar, as a companion. After the КотХаар killed him saving her life, she buried his heart in garou custom and made armour and a bow from his scales and bones, the first red dragonhide equipment in Ashenfall.
- Миа Ларсдоттир: The first of the Amalgamated, who was murdered at age 21 with a bronze dagger, likely by her father, who was ashamed of bringing an Amalgamated into the world. Her body was left in the forest rather than given a proper funeral.
- Варежки: A cat that supposedly owned blacksmith Готрен Актиллиан in Брэмблмид, and who engineered both the blurite crossbow and blurite bolts by interfering with his moulds and reagents.
- Moragrin: An assassin hired by Bramblemead's nobility to hunt the Соловей. She won the duel between them and discovered, on unmasking her victim, that she had killed her own younger sister.
- Mortimer Grimm: A man raised as one of the mindless dead who retained more of himself than his fellows. He wandered into the Болото Кровогнили and befriended a scientist who never learned his name and called him Igor.
- Плеснепалец: A goblin who crafted an excellent sword and was made chieftain against her wishes after others challenged her and were defeated by her blade.
- Mrs Hyacinth: A farmer recruited to Gielinor from Teragard by Guthix, who wove and then built the first bucket to manage the manure of her cow, Bessie.
- Mucktooth: A goblin killed by a companion who wished to test whether the pen was mightier than the sword. It was not.
- Niamh: An entomologist fascinated by the kalphites, who documented their hives and found notes indicating the insects had been brought to Ashenfall from another continent. She intended to enter a hive.
- Соловей: An outlaw archer of Брэмблмид named for the whistling of her arrows, who robbed caravans and tax collectors bound for the castle and returned the money to villagers. She was killed by Moragrin, her elder sister.
- Ноггин: A person who wore a sack over his face due to shame about his appearance. He was mocked by villagers and lived in the forests. He fell in love with a lost villager, but when they were to be wed and he removed his sack, his clothes fell empty to the floor, and the woman screamed. His face now appears on scarecrows across Ashenfall.
- Olga Skulltaker: The self-styled bandit queen of Феллхоллоу, who joined the Дети теней hoping for genuine wickedness and left disappointed. She took an assumed name, found the highest bridge available, and attacked anyone crossing it.
- Олис: A Wild Knight who invented what are now called dwellberry crunchies, though he called them "Dwellberry splats" due to his poor cooking skills.
- Орик Медведь: A Wild Knight known for his cooking expertise, particularly his dwellberry glazed roast flank.
- Otho: A bandit who called himself the bandit king and fletched his arrows only with stones he found interesting. His resulting nickname, the Magpie King, displeased him.
- Percival Lateef: A White Knight who sailed north to prove himself an explorer and became the first human on Ashenfall in centuries. Besieged by the undead atop a shrine island, he cleaved Сарадомин's symbol from its plinth in despair before dying.
- Pikenmix: A druid who broke with druidic pacifism and learned to hurl flame, then crafted the first splitbark helm from the tree she had walked into.
- Рамус Люмен: A wizard and a member of the Wizard's Guild who helps the player retrieve the staff of light.
- Растин: A dragonkin sorceress who discovered the power of Ashenfall's anima vents. She gained mastery over fire from the Anima Twist and created a staff of crystal and anima-infused iron to channel her magic. She granted Ависк the element of air with a device called Jas Moksha, and was particularly fond of decorating her robes with elaborate filigree made from precious metals and gemstones.
- Раванна: A necromancer who sustained her own life on hate and grief, and who granted Имару the curse the dragon sought after Кулдра devoured Ксикотал. She attempted and failed to raise Ульв after his death. Finding that Imaru had lodged herself in the River Noumenon and blocked the passage to the Afterlife, she bound the essence of the curse to a set of plinths in the hope that someone stronger would claim them.
- Roliker Hallister: A Wild Knight whose skill with sword and shield curdled into open contempt for his fellows, and who was shot in the shoulder by Vanida Mox with little sympathy from onlookers.
- Садия Вулкетра: A member of the Дети теней who feared eventual Saradominist aggression and forged the first steel helm in Феллхоллоу, horned and blackened in the forge fire. The village preferred plainer designs.
- Сэр Лир: A White Knight paladin who fought effectively against garou with an iron mace until he faced a dragon and discovered his weapon's ineffectiveness against dragon scales.
- Шана: A Bramblemead villager who hated the cold and created the leggings of lightness. The enchantment kept her legs warm, though it had an overheating problem that eventually caused her house to catch fire.
- Крушеклык: An alpha wolf who ignored the Wild Knights' attempts to lure his pack away from Bramblemead and attacked the village. He was eventually killed by a necromancer who locked his bones in place with magic while her companion struck from the shadows.
- Snotknucke: A goblin general who wore an amulet of strength and set out to fell Велгар in a single blow. Velgar dropped a rock on him.
- Tazyn: A nine-year-old garou who became lost in the Сумрачные пески and was guided home by a silver-furred woman singing beside a river that was not there the following morning.
- Курган: A large man who served as a guard for the alliance between Guthixians and Saradominists. He favoured a bronze mace and crushed anyone who defied the alliance, but refused to turn his weapon against the priests of Guthix when ordered to do so.
- Thraag: A Лунный Гару blacksmith excluded from his trade's figurine-painting gatherings on account of his smell, who arrived at one with an adamant warhammer and destroyed the figurines.
- Tolkun: A dwarf who discovered mithril in the First Age, giving rise to the dwarven name for the ore, the Dwarven Welcome.
- Ульв: A boy who lived outside the village and was ostracised for his silence and strange ways. He hunted with bone daggers until he was beaten by bandits and rescued by a Wild Knight, who taught him to use a bow. After killing a wolf that attacked Bramblemead, he asked only for the wolf's skull as a reward, which he fashioned into a mask.
- Vakar: A red dragon raised from a hatchling by Маев, whose name she rendered as the flame-wrought song. He was killed by the КотХаар while carrying her clear of them.
- Valius Malone: A herblore expert who created the first antifreeze potion. It emerged after his death that he had done so because the ingredients cost less than firewood.
- Vanida Mox: A Wild Knight archer and inventor who recognised the disadvantage archers faced against shields, and developed the bronze crossbow.
- Веммек: A Wild Knight commander who led a siege against a northern garou stronghold alongside Sir Lear.
- Веск: An Амальгамы blacksmith of Феллхоллоу and one of Садия Вулкетра's lovers, who assisted in forging the region's first steel equipment.
- Victoria Thistlethwaite: A chef of Брэмблмид whose pastries drew a visit from Бандос himself. He left three goblins to guard her during the war against the garou; they died within hours and her shop burned. Goblins of Ashenfall still pass down her sponge cake recipe.
- Виика: A dragonkin seer whose ability to see through time made them a target for their kin. They had a compassionate nature and argued that the vault guardians had souls. They kept company with a white-scaled dragon hatchling that was later killed by Lacrussa for research.
