Увядание is a status effect that affects the player if they entered withered water, drank wither water, stepped on withered ground, or are attacked by withered enemies in Fellhollow for too long. This causes them to enter a Soul Rift state. Consuming a food with the Steadfast Stomach perk slows down the accumulation of Wither.
