Raw desert sole is a Power Level 7 raw ingredient, which means it can be cooked at a campfire, grill, or with Infernal Rod into sun baked sole. It can be gathered from rod fishing spots with a yew rod in Umbral Sands at level 3 Fishing. Using monkfish bait increases the chance of catching one. It is the normal variant of a pristine desert sole.

Desert sole is not the music genre of choice for Moon Garou. Instead, the desert sole is a rather flat fish that likes to nestle at the bottom of sandy pools. Being sandy-coloured themselves, it makes for a rather difficult fish to spot, let alone catch.

The flatness of a desert sole once drew the attention of the dragonkin, Lacrussa. She noted the evolutionary benefit of being paper-thin, camouflaged and having organs spread out across the body. So she dabbled with the idea for dragons. Needless to say, her 'flat-dragon' years were some of her least productive.

For a flatfish without much weight to it, the desert sole really cranks out aromas. It's especially pungent, as if it is using its full surface area to emanate.

Your best bet is to cook it quick-smart. You don't want to be that guy who goes to a gathering and opens a lunch bag with some raw desert sole.
