Pristine armoured catfish is a Power Level 4 raw ingredient, which means it can be cooked at a campfire, grill, or with Infernal Rod into 3 braised catfish starting at Cooking level 41, and not burnt into 3 burnt catfish at level 50. It can also be used to make Pristine Armoured Catfish Trophy. It can be gathered from rod fishing spots with ideally a maple rod in Dowdun Reach at level 3 Fishing. Using animated feather increases the chance of catching one. It is the pristine variant of a Raw Armoured Catfish.

Sometimes evolution gets inspired by the wrong things. The catfish of Ashenfall have long been the victim of any creature that chooses to make them lunch. They are caught, cooked and consumed more often than is reasonable, and their suffering seemed too great as a result. So it was that a god took pity on them and gave them a defence.

It is uncertain which god, for none have claimed responsibility, but the divine whimsy could be the result of any of them. All we know is that the fish now have a chance against their assailants, an armoured hide to ward off some of the worst of their misery.

Sadly, they are no match for you.
