Obsidian-carved Book

This lore journal can be found on the half-sunken pyramid in The Burning Spire sub-region. It serves as a warning from a KotHaar to the other races about the dangers of Fuzan, explaining that their actions are not of their own will.

Words are a strange concept. Pointless. We should know our purpose. Know our place. There is no reason to share sounds with others.

Or there should not be. Yet the KotHaar are changed. Where once we knew our purpose. Once we knew what needed to be done. Now the flames that move us twist away from us, forcing us to act in purpose other than what we have known.

The Lens is taken. KotHaar carried it from its resting place and brought it to the volcano where it is now twisted, also, against its purpose.

We must learn the language of the mortal races, so that the danger can be known. This One leaves this scripture so others may come to understand the danger.

The Lens is misaligned. The sun burns too bright. The KotHaar are not ourselves.

We do not wish to do this.

Our purpose has been corrupted by the fire within us. The Cave of Screams strips us of choice, and lets the flame seize control. It moves us against our commands. We are puppets, and a monster has the strings.
