Керис
Керис
The keris is a power level 7 dagger. The recipe is learned from the corroded curved blade, found in the vault in southwest Umbral Sands, in the chest after the kalphite queen boss fight.
Its special effect deals 25% increased damage against kalphites, including kalphite workers, kalphite soldiers, kalphite guardians, and the kalphite queen, but not to kalphite eggs. While upright, kalphites are resistant to all forms of damage other than fire, however, when knocked onto their backs either with enough damage or after a parry, they become weak to all forms of damage, increasing all other forms of damage by about a combined 85% (this weapon's first hit deals 50 damage to an upright kalphite and 92 damage when knocked down without a parry, while the adamant dagger deals 40 damage upright and 74 knocked down without a parry).
This weapon and the adamant dagger have slightly higher maximum hits compared to the dragonbone dagger and wolfbane dagger when ascended to power level 7 (59 - 150 vs. 59 - 152), however they excel in their respective areas: In Сумрачные пески, the player can be ambushed by kalphites at any time, and the kalphite guardians and kalphite queen can become immune to one of the three combat styles, so carrying this weapon out on the sands even when geared for either Магия or Стрельба (especially since it only weighs 5.0) is worthwhile. Similarly, dire wolves, dragonwolves, ghost wolves, and hellhounds will quickly close the gap, so the wolfbane dagger is a strong choice against them. In all other situations, the dragonbone dagger's increased crit chance (even though it will be a lower bonus against those specific enemy types) will be best in all other situations.

The Moon Garou believe this weapon was given to them by a goddess of the river, who took the desperate garou and raised them up to become masters of the desert sands. The weapon was created as a tool against one of the deadliest denizens of the dunes – the kalphites.
The blade tip can find its way through the chinks in the Kalphite exoskeleton, piercing through the chitinous armour and damaging the much squishier flesh beneath. It was turned many a battle against the Kalphites from a garou bloodbath, to a garou victory banquet – though they tend to find the Kalphite meat a little less appetising then they’d like.
Moon Garou champions are gifted the Keris dagger after achieving a great victory. It is a symbol of their bravery and marks them as skilled warriors to all the other tribes. In olden times, a bearer of the Keris would be treated with great respect. They would be given food, lodging and anything else they needed to further their victories.
Nowadays, however, the Keris is seen more as a tool of survival against the insectoid foe.
