Ависк was many things, arrogant, manipulative, cruel, but he was also a genius. Within the dreamscapes of the nightmare crucible, he found a way to reshape matter, reforging it into its ideal form. He took weapons and moulded them into stronger versions. He took a staff and re-imagined it stronger and more deadly. Using the stuff of nightmares, he found a limited way to reshape the world. We are, perhaps, fortunate that it was limited to such small scales.
These shards are a part of that power. When combined with a fully realised core, they can upgrade legendary equipment into stronger versions of itself. A power we should hope Кулдра never finds.
