Our city is lost to embers, great monuments crumbling beneath the scorching heat of the sun and the claws of the dragon. We were peaceful, we were no threat to him, yet he brought such a fury down upon us that we could not stand against him.

Our archers fired so many arrows that it blotted out the sun. Our mages hurled spells that shook the very foundations of the earth, and our warriors readied their blades so sharp that they could cleave a mountain in two.

All for nought.

As he razed our cities, and shattered the monuments that recorded our past, he sang. Sang a song to the heavens, a great hymn to the sky. A song that burned in our hearts, igniting our souls like we were kindling on the fire just waiting for a spark.

We ran. What else could we do?

How do you fight a foe that threatens to set your spirit aflame?

We wander now, disparate tribes, keeping far enough away from each other, in the hope that he cannot chase us all. Families separated. A culture buried in the sands.

I only hope that we can find ourselves again, free from Fuzan’s flames.
